What is dissolving?
Dermal filler dissolving is a treatment that uses hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler.
Why might you want it?
It may be used if filler has caused lumps, asymmetry, migration, overfilling, or an unwanted result.
It can also be used urgently if a filler injection causes a vascular complication.
During your treatment?
The practitioner will assess the area and discuss your concerns before carefully injecting hyaluronidase into the filler-treated area. The enzyme then begins breaking down the HA filler.
Treatment time & downtime?
The appointment usually takes around 30–60 minutes, including consultation. Results can begin to appear within hours, although swelling and the final result may take several days to settle.
Downtime is generally minimal. You can generally return to normal activities the same day, but mild swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur for 1–3 days.
