CRYOTHERAPY

Cryopen is an ideal solution for the removal of skin lesions and imperfections such as; Skin Tags, Milia, Moles, Cherry Angiomas, Age Spots, Warts and Verrucas in a fast, painless way.

LESION CHECK - Map my Mole £50 per scan    £20 per extra scan

Using ‘mapmymole’ and Dyplens technology, we are able to check all lesions in clinic. A medical photo is taken of the lesion and sent digitally to a dermatologist who is able to complete a detailed report of the lesion within 24/48 hours. We then get you back in clinic to review the report and will remove the lesion if safe to do so. Lesion’s are also able to be checked at the GP and a letter provided. This letter needs to be brought to clinic to prove it is safe to remove.

LESION REMOVAL - CryoPen £50 starting cost        Consultation required

A quick and virtually painless treatment, using freezing technology to remove a range of lesions. A thorough consultation is advised and price is dependant on lesion type, size, depth, location and amount. A medical check is to be carried out on all Mole’s. This can be done from the GP with a letter provided or in clinic for a fee. More than one session may be required if the lesion is on a delicate area as we would not want to aggressively treat this and increase the risk of scaring or pigmentation. If the lesion is large, then this may also require more than one Cryo session.

Cryotherapy is not an instant result. The lesion will likely be darker in tone after treatment, a scab will form and fall off naturally as the skin heals underneath.

CryoPen Therapy can be used to treat any of the following types of skin imperfection:

  • Skin tags

  • Moles (to be scanned first)

  • Solar lentigo - sun spots

  • Age spots

  • Milia

  • Warts

  • Cherry angioma

  • Viral verrucae

FAQs

How long does the procedure last?

Although procedure times vary depending on the size and depth of the targeted area, applications still only last between one to thirty seconds. You should be finished and ready to go in a couple of minutes.

Does it hurt?

Any discomfort with CryoPen Therapy is relatively minimal and brief. You will likely experience a slight stinging nettle-type sensation during treatment. This is caused by the nitrous oxide striking its target and only lasts a few seconds. However, some residual stinging may persist for a minute or two afterwards, which is perfectly natural.

How many will I need?

You should hopefully find that one CryoPen treatment is enough but this all depends on the size/depth/location of the lesion. In some cases, a follow-up procedure may be required. We are mindful of the area of the body we are treating as we don't want to treat too aggressively and cause unwanted scarring.

What is the downtime?

During the recovery period, you may experience some minor side-effects while the skin heals. These usually include sensitivity in the treated area and possible minor blistering, the latter of which can last for anything between a few hours to a few days. However, our cryotherapy device provides the best protection against blistering. You should always avoid touching or picking at the treated area following a procedure.

Please note that while the skin heals, the area may also appear darker in colour. This is natural and the skin will soon return to your natural tones.
